I'm not sure where the time goes. I have been meaning to blog our spring break "trip" for over a week.
Okay, so maybe you are thinking we went on a very exciting trip to the slopes, or better even the beach. But not so. We went to Hays, America.
It was really nice getting away for a couple of days. I get so few Sundays off during the school year that I was really looking forward to leaving town for a few days. We left Friday morning and got to Hays in time for lunch at the Lackey's. After lunch we toured Mr. Lackey's job site. He is the superintendent on the new Via Christi Assisted Living Facility. I was really impressed. The building is just about finished. In fact the big inspection day is tomorrow.

On Saturday, while the guys bonded over changing oil in the car, Kayla and I did a little shopping. I bought my first gifts for Grady and the Little Lackey.
In the afternoon we packed a picnic and headed to the Cedar Bluff State Lake. It was a fun drive along some red roads. After 5 days of rain, it was great being outside in some sunshine. The bluffs were really cool, the water was beautiful, and the company fun.
We saw pheasant, deer, turkey and a rabbit/coon. By "we" I mean, Kayla and I. On the way back we stopped by the Catholic Church in Antonino for 4:00 Mass. We went to dinner at LB's and finished the evening with some Skip Bo action. The Lackeys beat the Oblingers in three games. ( I have to say Mr. Lackey has improved.)
It was fun spending time with Kayla and her husband and their pups, Nana and Lola. We are looking forward to having them back in the Wichita area in May!
God is good.
