"Well Begun Is Half Done" --Aristotle

Wouldn't you know that as soon as our  basement was dug and the forms set for the concrete to be poured, we would have our first snow.  Okay, I know the farmers really need the moisture and I understand that some people even like the white stuff....Then the concrete was poured and it rained.  The forms were stripped and the waterproofing complete and a freak thunderstorm hit our area.  Now our homesite is so muddy the truck driver can't even get on the lot to dump sand for the next concrete pour and our plumber is crying, "too wet".

The funny thing about weather is that someone is praying for rain while another person is praying for sunshine.  Someone likes the snow and another is proclaiming, "Snow makes me cranky!"  One person's needed moisture is another person's delay in construction.  But as in so many things in life--it is what it is.
We are blessed to have begun and trust that the house will be completed in God's timing.

We have begun!

Forms are set and blanketed.
The walls are poured!
It looks like we have some waterproofing.

We Inadvertently Sold Our House

This was what WGO posted on my facebook on November 29th.  "How does one 'inadvertently' sell their house?" you might ask.  Well, WGO had been wanting to sell our house for quite some time.  In the last two years we had resided and repainted the outside of the house.  We had recarpeted and repainted the inside of the house.  Our house was looking about as good as it was going to, so it was our thought, that it would be a good time to put the house on the market.  First step was to call a real estate agent.  Considering the housing market, she advised us to wait until spring.  Second step was to contact some friends who had often said, "If you ever want to sell your house, we want to buy it." Our friends indeed were interested, but obviously needed to sell their home.  So with a prayer, they put a "for sell by owner" sign in their yard.  Over thanksgiving weekend a young couple looked at their home, expressed an interest, and offered a contract.  To make a long story short, everything fell into place and we closed on our house on February 3rd.

We  moved into a rental (owned by the real estate agent).  We purchased a 5 acre lot.  We finalized the house design.  And the basement is being dug as I write.   ....more to come.

Overwhelmingly Blessed

"Overwhelmingly Blessed"- that is the phrase a friend of mine used when I was bringing her up to date on all that is happening in my life. Since December....we sold our home of 15 years...we bought a five acre lot to build on...we moved into a rental with one and a half baths...WGO (my husband) designed our new home...Tyler graduated from KSU and is now employed...plans for his June wedding to his high school sweetheart, Laura, are in full swing...Megan and her husband, Chad, announced that they are expecting their first child in July...Kayla and her husband, Lucas, announced that they are expecting their first child in September. 2012 promises to be a year full of many wonderful blessings. I plan to document this year on this blog. Stay tuned for pictures and stories and for my rambling thoughts on all that is happening in my crazy life. GOD IS GOOD. Karen O.
